BOSTON, Mass. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology women's cross country team opened the 2023 campaign at the Wheaton & Babson Season Opener. The 3K race was run at the Mark Coogan Course in Attleboro, Mass.
Six student-athletes competed for the Leopards, who notched 141 points to finish fifth. Junior Erin MacLean (Newton, Mass.) paced the Black & Gold with a 26th-place finish (14:24.60) to earn 21 points. Senior Eleni Christopoulos (Knoxville, Tenn.) finished 33rd (14:57.40) to pick up 26 points.
In her collegiate debut, freshman Summer Daniels (New Beford, Mass.) notched 29 points with her 38th-place finish (15:16.80).
Sophomore Annie King (Wakefield, Mass.) placed 43rd (32 points) with a time of 16:07.60, while junior Megan Leger (Westminster, Mass.) was 46th (33 points) with a time of 17:41.90.
Senior Dionne Ang (Victoria, Australia) places 48th for the Black & Gold with a time of 19:59.90.
Wentworth next competes on September 16 at the Pop Crowell Invitational on the campus of Gordon College.
