BOSTON, Mass. – Junior Jared Turgeon (Dover, N.H.) of the Wentworth Institute of Technology golf team has been named to the 2021 Commonwealth Coast Conference Men's Golf All-Conference Second Team as the league announced its major award winners and all-conference teams on Friday afternoon.
Voting for the All-CCC teams and major awards was conducted by the eight CCC head men's golf coaches following the conclusion of conference championship.
Turgeon played in all three of Wentworth's events this spring (four rounds), averaging a career-best 81.25 strokes per round and, relative to par, his stroke average was +11, both of which led the Leopards. He kicked off the season as Wentworth's medalist, placing third at the Suffolk Invitational where he shot an 82. He carded an 82 in Wentworth's second event of the season, the Western New England Invitational, tying him for 10th. At the two-day CCC Championship, he finished tied for 14th, shooting a 161 (81-80). His second round score of 80 tied his career low round.
In his three seasons with the Black & Gold, Turgeon has played in 16 rounds, averaging 82.81 strokes per round, which is the sixth-lowest in program history. He has five top-10 finishes in 12 events, with two of those seeing him finish in the top five.
