The Leopards evened the game midway through the period off a goal by freshman Mike Domsodi (Kirkland, Que.). Domsodi took advantage of a Colonel penalty called on Barlock for interference. He received the puck right in front of the net and tipped it in past Curry's junior goaltender Joe Dawson (Woodbury, Minn.). Domsodi was assisted by juniors Shaun Jameson (Long Beach, Calif.) and Reed Rushing (Seattle, Wash.). Curry regained their lead just over three minutes later when the Colonels scored off a Leopards penalty. Junior Joel Vastl (North Salem, N.H.) was called for a high stick and with just nine seconds remaining left on the penalty DeLong netted his first of the night. Barlock and senior John Williams (Flourtown, Pa.) were on the assists. Wentworth held a slight advantage in shots with 13, while Curry had 11.

The Leopards tied the game at two, 1:49 into the second period. Freshman Mike Novella (New Haven, Conn.) got the second assist. Yarbers' goal proved to be the last for Wentworth. The game remained tied over the next 18:11 minutes with both goaltenders playing solid between the pipes. The Leopards again outshot the Colonels 12-7.

Williams scored the game-winner in the third period at the 2:55 mark. Barlock received his second assist on the night for a total of three points on one goal and two assists and DeLong had his second of three assists. DeLong led all scorers with four points, registering one goal and chipping in for three assists. Curry's fourth goal came at 11:19. The goal was the Colonels' third power-play goal of the day. Wentworth's Novella was called for charging and Kavanagh collected a rebound at the corner of the net for Curry's final score. DeLong was on the assist for his third and senior Payden Benning (Estevan, Sask.) earned the secondary. The Colonels had nine shots for a game total of 29 and Wentworth had seven for a total of 30.
