WESTON, Mass. – The Wentworth men's tennis team opened the 2010 season in fine fashion, shutting out Regis, 9-0, in both teams' season opener.

The Leopards dropped just one game in nine total matches and began the match by collecting 8-0 victories in the three doubles matches. Juan Rodriguez (Quito, Ecuador) teamed with Dan Alexander (Merrimac, Mass.) for a win at number one doubles; Nate Gove (Scarborough, Maine) teamed with Ross Lyons (Madison, Conn.) to win at number two doubles; and Baltazar Jimenez (Cambridge, Mass.) teamed with Joe Centola (Hopkinton, Mass.) to win at number three doubles.

In singles play, Rodriguez, Alexander, Gove, Jimenez, and Lyons each won, as did freshman Dave Filar (Wolcott, Conn.), to round out the 9-0 win.
