Four Men's Tennis Players Named All-TCCC

BOSTON, Mass. – Four members of the 2010 Wentworth men's tennis team have been named to The Commonwealth Coast Conference All-Conference Team.  The announcement was made today after a vote of the league's 12 head coaches.

Freshman Juan Rodriguez (Quito, Ecuador) was named to the first team in singles play and teamed with senior Dan Alexander (Merrimac, Mass.) to earn a sport on the first team in doubles play.  Alexander also earned honorable mention honors in singles play.  Also earning all-conference honors was the doubles tandem of sophomore Nate Gove (Scarborough, Maine) and junior Ross Lyons (Madison, Conn.), who were named Honorable Mention All-TCCC.

Rodriguez had an impressive rookie campaign, posting an 11-2 record at number one singles.  His lone two losses came to Nichols' Justin DeLuca, who was named both the league's player and rookie of the year.  In doubles play Rodriguez and Alexander were 11-3 at number one doubles.  Alexander also posted a 6-8 record in singles play.

Gove and Lyons combined to go 7-6 at number two doubles, including posting a 6-4 record in TCCC play.  This marks the second consecutive selection for Gove, whose doubles tandem earned honorable mention honors a year ago.
