BOSTON, Mass. – Sophomore Jack McGovern (Ancaster, Ont.) of men's ice hockey, junior Tyler Stewart (East Taunton, Mass.) of men's basketball, and senior Dionne Ang (Victoria, Australia) of women's track and field have been named Leopards of the Week for the week of November 27-December 3.
McGovern stopped all ten shots he faced in relief against the Colonels on December 1 before starting against Curry the following day. The sophomore dominated the Colonels, turning 37 of their 38 shots aside, to give Wentworth their first win over Curry since the 2020 CCC Tournament. McGovern rocked a 1.00 goals-against-average and a .974 save percentage.
Stewart played through a historic week as the forward totaled a career-high 30 points in a 64-57 win over Curry before earning the first known triple-double in program history in a narrow loss to Endicott. Against the Colonels, Stewart grabbed 10 rebounds and added two blocks and a steal. Versus Endicott, the junior tallied 15 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists, along with 3 blocks and a steal.
Ang shined in the first-ever meet for women's track and field at the Suffolk Relays, setting two program records. Her 8.66 time in the 60-meter dash marked a program high while her 4.56-meter mark in the long jump was also. Ang capped her day with a 47th-place finish in the 200-meter.
