BOSTON, Mass. – Freshman Nigel Cross (Worcester, Mass.) of baseball, freshman Brianna Miller (West Haven, Conn.) of softball, and sophomore Nicolai Bell (Moraga, Calif.) of men's volleyball have been named Leopards of the Week for the week of March 4-10.
Cross went 2-0 on the mound across the Leopards' season-opening week, only surrendering five hits across the wins versus Martin Luther (8-1) and Alfred (26-0) and averaging 8.18 strikeouts per nine innings, a .82 ERA, and a .91 WHIP.
Miller paced Wentworth's offense in their week in Florida, hitting .533 and holding an OBP of .588. The rookie notched three doubles, two triples, three RBI and one stolen base in her 30 at-bats and recorded three hits in three of the Leopards' ten contests.
Bell picked up the Black & Gold's offense in three separate wins over nationally ranked programs, totaling 15 kills and eight blocks across the triumphs. The sophomore averaged a hitting percentage of .404 over the weekend as well.
