BOSTON, Mass. – Senior Sam Goy (Derry, N.H.) of men's basketball and junior Jacob Shankar (Johnstown, Ont.) of men's ice hockey have been named Leopards of the Week for the week of January 1-7.
Goy had himself a career week for the Leopards, dropping a then-career-high 23 points (6-10 FG) against Western New England before sinking a new career-high 27 points (9-17 FG) against Suffolk four days later. Through their three contests in the week, Goy averaged 22 points and just under seven rebounds per game.
Shankar scored the game-winning goal with 2:20 remaining in a 5-4 triumph over SNHU at the Boston Landing Invitational. A day earlier, the forward scored a goal and added an assist in the tournament opener against Tufts.
