WEYMOUTH, Mass. – Nichols College sophomore Karl Miller (Sandy Hook, Conn.) had two hits and drove in two runs as the Bison (2-13, 1-2 Commonwealth Coast conference) defeated the Wentworth Institute of Technology baseball team, 6-2, in Commonwealth Coast Conference action Wednesday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Nichols took a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning as junior Ben Jerome (Waterford, Conn.) drew a bases-loaded walk and Miller hit a two-out, two-run double.
  • The third inning saw Wentworth get on the board as sophomore jake Prisco (Bridgewater, Mass.) led off with a walk and oved to second on a single from junior Christian Peruzzi (Plymouth, Mass.). A double play ended the Leopard threat.
  • Nichols scored a run in the fourth on an RBI single from senior Brad Ellis (Morris, Conn.) and plated a run in the fifth on a senior Jim Marasco (Rochester, N.Y.) RBI groundout. The Bison added their sixth run of the night when Marasco sacrificed in a run.
  • Robinson led off the eighth inning with a single and went to second on a wild pitch before going to third when DiPina flew out. Junior Zach Smith (Madison, N.H.) grounded out to score Robinson.
  • Robinson finished the game going 2-for-3 with a walk and drove in a run. Graduate student Nolan McManus (Milton, Mass.) also had two hits for the Black & Gold.
