Buzzell Named All-CCC

BOSTON, Mass. – Senior midfielder Jake Buzzell (Haverhill, Mass.) of the Wentworth men's soccer team has been named to the 2012 Commonwealth Coast Conference All-Conference Team as announced by Commissioner Gregg M. Kaye. Buzzell earned a nod on the honorable mention team for the second season in a row. In addition to Buzzell's honor, the Leopard men's soccer team was the recipient of the conference's team sportsmanship award.

A three-year starter and two-year captain of the Leopards, Buzzell started all 15 games in which he played this year and tallied a goal and two assists for four points. Both of his assists came in a 4-0 win over Eastern Nazarene on Sept. 15 and his lone goal came in his final collegiate game when he scored early in a 1-1 tie against Endicott on Oct. 24. In addition to his offensive numbers, he was a stalwart on defense all season, helping to hold opponents to one or fewer goals in nine of Wentworth's 16 contests.

For his career Buzzell started 54 of the 63 games in which he played, scoring two goals and adding two assists for six career points. Over his final two seasons he played in 32 of a possible 33 games, earning the start in all 32.
