Leopards Announce Partnership With Special Olympics

BOSTON, Mass. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology Athletic Department is pleased to announce a partnership with the Massachusetts Special Olympics which will begin with a soccer clinic on the morning of Saturday, October 13.

This partnership is in conjunction with an NCAA Division III initiative and its purpose is to improve the lives of Special Olympics athletes through their involvement with Division III student-athletes and to foster a mutual learning experience between Division III student-athletes and Special Olympics athletes.

"We are very excited to be working with such an incredibly well-respected organization," said Associate Director of Athletics Danielle Ferrara. "We are looking forward to an enjoyable day, which will be the start of many events we will have in support of the Special Olympics."

Saturday's clinic will feature Leopard student-athletes assisting with a clinic on Sweeney Field, which will be followed by the Special Olympians being involved in the pre-game introductions and National Anthem prior to the 12:00 p.m. start of the women's soccer game against Commonwealth Coast Conference foe Salve Regina. The Seahawks are also an active supporter of the Special Olympics.
