BOSTON, Mass. – Junior Dan McSolla (Bridgewater, Mass.) will compete in the 2017 NCAA Division III Men's Indoor Track & Field Championships this weekend in Naperville, Ill., on the campus of North Central College.
McSolla, who was also a qualifier for the 2016 NCAA Division III Championships, will compete in the mile after running a personal-best of 4:08.63 at the Boston University Last Chance Meet on Feb. 26. This mark, which was converted to a time of 4:11.82 due to the layout of Boston University's track, is the seventh-fastest time in the 15-runner field. For each men's individual event contested, including the heptathlon, the top 15 declared student-athletes were accepted into the competition while for each relay event contested, the top 12 declared relay teams, one per institution, were accepted into the competition.
The men's mile preliminaries will be contested on Friday, March 10, at 2:15 p.m. Eastern Time. The top three runners from each heat plus the next four fastest times will qualify for the finals, which will be run on Saturday, March 11, at 2:10 p.m. Eastern Time. The top eight finishers in Saturday's final will be named All-Americans.
Under the direction of head coach Dan Roark, this is the first season the Wentworth indoor track team has been a varsity program.
