Potts Named GNAC Defensive Player of the Week

BOSTON, Mass. – Junior middle hitter Alex Potts (Niverville, N.Y.) has been honored by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference as its defensive player of the week. Potts earns the honor for matches played from Feb. 29-March 6.

In a 3-0 week for the Leopards, Potts averaged 3.44 kills and 1.44 blocks per set while hitting .609 on the week. Potts had 16 kills without making an error on 24 swings (.667 attack percentage) to go along with four blocks in a 3-1 win over Emmanuel. He followed that up with a 14 kill, five ace, eight-block performance in a 3-1 win at Rivier in which he hit .550 for the match.

Potts has played in all 20 matches for the 14-6 Leopards (6-1 GNAC) and is averaging 2.55 kills, 0.95 blocks, and 0.40 aces per set while hitting .570. His attack percentage is first among Division III men's volleyball players.
