Women's History Month Student-Athlete Spotlight: Hannah Erickson

Women's History Month Student-Athlete Spotlight: Hannah Erickson

In honor of Women's History Month, Wentworth is celebrating some of our notable female student-athletes who have made an impact in their respective sports and in the Wentworth community. Today we highlight senior Hannah Erickson of the women's tennis team and the department's diversity, inclusion, and equity committee.

Why Wentworth?

  • I chose Wentworth because of the coop program and for my major. When I was looking for schools, they were not offering what Wentworth is offering with Biological Engineering. I am also a part of the first class of biological engineers at Wentworth so there was also excitement about that.

Favorite snack?

  • Bananas

Your hype song?

  • While in Florida for Spring Break I remember Hollaback Girl by Gwen Stefani played in the van on the way to the USTA campus. Liv Deluca and I ended up winning our doubles match all while I was singing Hollaback girl in my head.

Do you sing in the shower or in the car? Or both?

  • In the car sometimes.

What is your favorite spot in Boston or on campus?

  • The Riverway part of the Emerald Necklace. It's a great place to get some exercise outside and see come cute dogs. It also has a wide path so its COVID friendly. My favorite spot on campus is the CEIS third floor because that is where (pre-COVID) my friends and I would hang out and get our work done.

Any game day superstitions?

  • I need to be wearing the right socks to focus. I also usually serve first and when I do, I feel like I am more into the game and ready to go.

Female Role Model?

  • I'd have to say Ali Krieger and Ashlyn Harris.

Could you share something about yourself you would like people to know?

  • I am an amateur photographer and love taking portraits and action shots of the women's and men's tennis teams.
