BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. – Sophomore Justin Bolla's (Groveland, Mass.) two-run homer highlighted a five-run fourth inning rally that lifted Wentworth to a 5-3 non-league college baseball victory over Massachusetts Maritime in a game called after five innings of play due to lightning and rain Thursday afternoon at Commodore Hendy Field.

Bolla's two-run shot to right center, his second round-tripper of the spring, staked the visiting Leopards (23-11) to a 2-0 fourth inning advantage, and a sacrifice fly by sophomore Conner Flisnik (Marcy, N.Y.) extended that edge to 3-0 two batters later.  A two-out error plated junior Matt Jordan (Concord, N.H.) with the fourth tally of the inning, and an RBI single off the bat of junior Mike Diodato (Asbury, N.J.) capped the Wentworth rally.  The host Buccaneers (7-14) closed back to within two with a three-run uprising in the bottom of the fifth, as after freshman Kyle Steek (Wareham, Mass.) scored on a double-play groundout, junior Ross Hickey (Centerville, Mass.) laced an RBI triple and freshman Zachary Sullivan (Barnstable, Mass.) followed with a run-scoring single to account for what would prove to be the final score, as the game was halted by an hour due to lightning in the area and called due to subsequent rain.

Junior Brendon Duffy (Lynn, Mass.) joined Bolla with a pair of hits as part of an eight-hit attack in the win for Wentworth, which also received a double off the bat of freshman Alex Wong (Lewiston, Maine), as sophomore Kyle Cruz (Burlington, Conn.) went the distance on the mound for the Leopards, allowing three unearned runs and fanning a pair to improve to 4-1 on the season.  Junior Brad Musk (Dania, Fla.) registered two of Massachusetts Maritime's eight hits in the setback, as sophomore Jared Lowe (Brimfield, Mass.) allowed three earned runs and struck out three over four innings of work to fall to 1-1 on the spring for the Buccaneers.

Massachusetts Maritime hosts Fitchburg State in a MASCAC doubleheader on Saturday afternoon at Commodore Hendy Field that begins at Noon, while Wentworth will host New England College in a Commonwealth Coast Conference twinbill on Saturday afternoon at Stonehill's Lou Gorman Field in Easton, Mass. that also begins at Noon.
