BOSTON, Mass. – Led by sophomore Jack Connell's (Walpole, Mass.) game-high 16 points, five Wentworth Institute of Technology men's basketball student-athletes scored in double figures as the Leopards closed out the regular season portion of their home schedule with an 87-55 win over Gordon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Wentworth erased an early, 10-5 deficit when senior Conor Rubenskas (Bridgewater, Mass.) scored five straight points, tying the game at 10-all with 16:02 remaining. After Gordon took a 12-10 lead on a freshman Isaac Jarvis (Concord, N.H.) putback, the Leopards used a 7-0 run to take a 17-12 lead when junior Sam Goy (Derry, N.H.) knocked down two free throws.
- Using an 8-4 spurt, the Fighting Scots came back to within one on three free throws from senior Garrett Sattazahn (Morris, Conn.) with 10:00 left. However, the Leopards used a 13-0 run to take a 34-20 lead with 4:48 left after Rubenskas hit a pair of free throws. Gordon outscored Wentworth by an 11-3 margin over the final 3:49 of the half, cutting the lead to six after a jumper from senior Zach Quanico (Pacifica, Calif.) with five seconds left in the opening half.
- Connell hit a three with 15:42 left to put the hosts ahead, 47-35, however, the Fighting Scots answered with a three of their own from senior Zachary Bennett (Wolfeboro, N.H.). From there, the Black & Gold used a 22-6 run to extend their lead when freshman Nathan Brinkman (Trumbull, Conn.) hit a three with 7:45 left. Wentworth led by as many as 34 late in the contest.
- In addition to Connell's 16 points, senior Jack Schaake (Hampton, N.H.) scored 14 and grabbed nine rebounds, sophomore Tyler Stewart (East Taunton, Mass.) scored 11 points, grabbed 15 rebounds, and dished out six assists, while Goy and Brinkman each tallied 11 points. Wentworth shot 55.6 percent from the floor in the second half and 50 percent for the game while holding a 47-28 rebounding advantage.
SERIES NOTES:
- Tonight marked the 66th all-time meeting between the two teams with Gordon holding a 41-25 series advantage.
