Sullivan Fares Well as First Female to Compete at DIII New England Championship

Middlebury, Vt. – Freshman Colleen Sullivan (East Bridgewater, Mass.) competed at the NCAA Division III Regional Championship this afternoon hosted by Middlebury College. Sullivan becomes the first Wentworth female student-athlete to both qualify and race in the regional event.

Sullivan participated in the 600m run, where she placed 24th with a final time of 1:45.75. She qualified for the 600m regional race during the Leopards' first meet of the season, with a time of 1:44.02 and a first-place finish.

"Being the first woman to qualify for this championship is a big step for this program and says a lot of the character and determination of Colleen," said Head Coach Dan Roark. "She has had a great season and has a lot more to achieve. As a freshman to come in and qualify for the New England championship in two events is fantastic and I'm excited for the future of her running career."
