Pierce, Moser Compete at New England Championships

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. – Two student-athletes from the Wentworth Institute of Technology track & field team competed in the NEICAAA Championship held this weekend in New Britain, Conn. Sophomore Jared Pierce (Biddeford, Maine) was entered in the discus and junior Kyle Mosher (Southbury, Conn.) competed in the shot put.

Pierce competed in the first flight, recording throws of 35.22 meters, 40.84 meters, and 37.85 meters. The 40.84 meters was good enough to place him sixth in the 12-person flight and earned him 16th overall among 24 competitors.

Competing in the first flight, Moser had throws of 13.56 meters, 13.29 meters, and 13.71 meters. His final throw of 13.71 meters placed him ninth among the 12 competitors in his flight and 21st overall.

The duo are still in contention for an at-large selection to the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The field will be announced on Friday, May 21.
