BOSTON, Mass. – For the second time this season, freshman Kayla DeMedeiros (So. Dartmouth, Mass.) has been named Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) softball Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.

DeMedeiros was a force on both sides of the plate in Wentworth's 3-5 week, hitting .356 off the bat while tossing 30.0 innings for a 1.40 ERA.

The freshman pitcher/first baseman led the Leopards' to the 3-5 week, highlighted by four hits in Wentworth's sweep over Nichols this past weekend to sweep the Bison for the first time since 2004. Collectively, DeMedeiros went 10-for-19, including three doubles, three RBI, three walks, and a run scored. In the circle she fanned 21 batters in 30.0 innings of work.

Wentworth will play its final CCC road contest tomorrow at Endicott.
