Women's Lacrosse Falls to Roger Williams

BOSTON, Mass. – Senior Julia Kelley (Foxborough, Mass.) totaled 13 points as the Roger Williams women's lacrosse team bested the Wentworth Institute of Technology, 26-0, in Commonwealth Coast Conference play Tuesday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The Hawks grabbed a 14-0 advantage by the halfway mark, with three goals off the stick of Kelley and two apiece for junior Emma Terino (East Meadow, N.Y.), freshman Allie Shamberger (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.), and junior Kimmy Creegan (Ramsey, N.J.).
  • Creegan scored twice to begin the third frame, pushing the lead to 16-0, before the hosts rattled off ten more tallies by the final horn to take the game, 26-0.
  • Junior Hayden Saunders (Old Saybrook, Conn.) made five saves in between the pipes for the Leopards. Freshman Kiki Dempsey (Stonington, Conn.) and senior Kristina Arabatzis (Saco, Maine) recorded two ground balls and one caused turnover each.

SERIES NOTES:

  • Tonight marked the 12th all-time meeting between the two teams.
