Three from Women's Soccer Named to All-CCC Teams

BOSTON, Mass. – Three members of the Wentworth Institute of Technology women's soccer team were named to the All-Commonwealth Coast Conference teams as graduate student midfielder Diana Bruggeman (Natick, Mass.) earned a spot on the first team while junior defender Lauren Bradley (Lumberton, N.J.) and sophomore forward Jenny Montville (Plainville, Mass.) were both named to the third team. The announcement was made after the CCC released its 2022 all-conference honorees and major award winners on Wednesday afternoon.

The CCC Offensive Player of the Year – for the second straight year – was senior Bianca Robbins (Johnston, R.I.) of Roger Williams. Senior Summer Hathaway (Colchester, Vt.) of Western New England was named the CCC Defensive Player of the Year while her head coach, Kristin Hensinger, was named the CCC Coach of the Year. Salve Regina freshman Hannah Daniewicz (Preston, Conn.) earned CCC Rookie of the Year honors and Endicott senior Jacqueline Ruggiero (Dedham, Mass.) was named the CCC Scholar-Athlete winner. Suffolk was the winner of the team sportsmanship award.

Voting for the All-CCC Teams and major awards was conducted by the 10 CCC head women's soccer coaches following the conclusion of the regular season.

Starting 17 games for the Black and Gold, Bruggeman found the back of the net a team-best seven times and added an assist for 15 points this season, tying her for the team lead in points. Bruggeman tallied twice in a 3-2 win over Mount Holyoke on September 10 and scored the lone goal in a key, 1-0 CCC victory over Gordon on October 15. Prior to joining the Leopards, Bruggeman had a three-year career with Division II Assumption University in which she scored 15 goals and had 11 assists across 55 contests.

A repeat All-CCC selection, Bradley started in 16 of the 17 games in which she played and put home her first collegiate goal in a 4-0 win over UMass Dartmouth on September 13; a goal that was the game winner. A mainstay in the backfield, she helped the Leopards hold opponents to one or fewer goals in seven games, which included four shutouts. She also contributed to the Leopards' offense with many long free kicks that set up scoring chances.

For her career she has started 31 of the 33 games in which she has played.

Montville's sophomore campaign saw her nearly double her point output from her rookie season, tying Bruggeman for the team lead in points with 15, which included a team-high five assists in 18 games (16 starts). She had a strong showing in a 4-0 win over UMass Dartmouth on September 13, finishing the game with a goal and two assists and also had a two-goal outing in the Leopards' 3-2 CCC win over Endicott on October 22.

Over the course of her career, Montville has played in 33 games, scoring 23 points on nine goals and five assists.

Wentworth finished the season with an 8-8-2 record, posting its most wins since the 2016 season.
