Soccer Student-Athletes Selected for Senior All-Star Games

BOSTON, Mass. – A trio of soccer student-athletes wrapped up their careers by being selected to play in New England coaches' associations' all-star games. Augustin Edwin, Jr. (New Bedford, Mass.) of the men's soccer team played in the New England Intercollegiate Soccer Association's Senior All-Star Game on November 27 at Gordon College while Diana Bruggeman of the women's soccer team will compete in the New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association Senior All-Star Game this Saturday (December 10) at Clark University (11:00 a.m.).

Edwin, Jr., started 17 of the 18 games the Leopards played in this past season, scoring four goals and adding an assist for nine points. He recorded the game-winning goal in a 2-1 win over the University of New England on October 19. Starting 30 of the 52 games in which he played in during his career, he tallied 22 career points, which came on nine goals (two game winners) and four assists.

Patrolling the midfield and the defensive end, Treble started all 17 of the games in which he appeared this past season. While helping the defense allow one or fewer goals in half of the Leopards' games, he also had a goal and an assist in a 4-1 win over UMass Boston. Starting 66 of the 68 games in which he played over his career, the Civil Engineering major scored 27 points, coming on nine goals and nine assists. He had a game-winning goal in each of his four seasons.

A First Team All-Commonwealth Coast Conference selection, Bruggeman started all 17 games in which she played for the Black & Gold, scoring 15 points which included a team-high seven markers. Bruggeman tallied twice in a 3-2 win over Mount Holyoke on September 10 and scored the lone goal in a key, 1-0 CCC victory over Gordon on October 15. Prior to joining the Leopards, Bruggeman had a three-year career with Division II Assumption University in which she scored 15 goals and had 11 assists across 55 contests.
