BOSTON, Mass. – College Sports Communicators (formerly known as College Sports Information Directors of America) recently released its 2022 Academic All-District® Women's Soccer Teams. These teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Wentworth Institute of Technology had two student-athletes honored with juniors Lauren Bradley (Lumberton, N.J.) and Madelyn Seder (Marlborough, Mass.) earning the program's first Academic All-District honors since the 2003 season. The duo are also Wentworth's 31st and 32nd Academic All-District selections since 1995.
A two-time All-Commonwealth Coast Conference selection, Bradley started in 16 of the 17 games in which she played and put home her first collegiate goal in a 4-0 win over UMass Dartmouth on September 13; a goal that was the game winner. A mainstay in the backfield, she helped the Leopards hold opponents to one or fewer goals in seven games, which included four shutouts. She also contributed to the Leopards' offense with many long free kicks that set up scoring chances. For her career, the Industrial Design major has started 31 of the 33 contests in which she has appeared.
After playing in just three games in 2021, Seder started five of the 15 games in which she appeared this season, tallying six points on two goals and two assists. Both of her goals were game-winning tallies, coming in the season-opening 2-1 win over Lesley and in a 2-0 win at Nichols. For her career, the Biomedical Engineering major has played in 18 career contests, with six points during this stretch.
The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December.
