Vaughn, Zweifler Sweep CCC Weekly Awards

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology women's volleyball team continued their dominance across the Commonwealth Coast Conference this past week by sweeping the conference's weekly awards. Freshman Olivia Vaughn (Bolingbrook, Ill.) was named both Player and Rookie of the Week while sophomore Amanda Zweifler (Jersey City, N.J.) earned Libero of the Week honors. The awards are for matches played October 16-22.

Vaughn helped push the Leopards' win streak to nine as the provider for the offense, dishing out a total of 96 assists across nine sets of action this week. Her 51 assists in a 3-2 win over Roger Williams broke the all-time record for most assists in any given match while her total of 44 against Endicott matched her previously set career-high and lifted the Leopards to their first-ever win against the Gulls.

Zweifler earned her third career weekly honor by notching 35 total digs across nine sets of play. The sophomore totaled 64 receptions across the week, accounting for just three errors, and added more with a total of seven assists and five service aces across the two matches.

Wentworth is 17-5 this season, a perfect 5-0 in CCC action, and hosts Western New England on Thursday night.
