Brennan, Sender Earn CCC Weekly Honors

BOSTON, Mass. – After posting a 2-0 record during a spring break trip to Central Florida, two members of the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's lacrosse team have been honored by the Commonwealth Coast Conference. Junior Sean Brennan (Stony Point, N.Y.) was named the league's defensive player of the week while freshman Paul Sender (Closter, N.J.) earned CCC Rookie of the Week honors. The honors come for games played from March 5-11.

Brennan was a mainstay on defense for the Leopards as he scooped up a team-high 13 ground balls. In a 19-13 win over St. Joseph's of Maine he had seven ground balls and caused a turnover and followed that up with six ground balls and one assist in a 14-8 win over Moravian. In three games this season Brennan has 17 ground balls and two caused turnovers.

Sender went 22-for-41 at the faceoff X to win 53.7 percent of his faceoffs and also picked up five ground balls. He was 16-for-25 at the X in a 14-8 win over Moravian. In three games this season he has won 54.7 percent of faceoffs (29-for-53) and has picked up eight ground balls.

Wentworth (3-0) is at MIT on Thursday.
