Eldred Named All-Commonwealth Coast Conference

BOSTON, Mass. – Junior midfielder Jacob Eldred (Goffstown, N.H.) of the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's lacrosse team was recognized by the Commonwealth Coast Conference as the league announced its all-conference teams and major award winners Friday morning. Eldred took home Third Team All-CCC honors for his solid play this season.

Eldred had a career season for the Leopards as he led the team in assists (23) and points (49) while his 26 goals ranked him third among his teammates each of these statistics were career highs. He recorded a career-high five assists in a 19-6 win at Dean on February 28 and matched that total in a 20-5 win over Anna Maria on March 19. He also had a career-high five goals in a 19-13 win over St. Joseph's (Maine) on March 8. In that game he totaled a career-high eight points, a number he matched in the win over Anna Maria. His 23 assists this season tied him for the seventh-most in a single season in program history while his 49 points ranked him seventh on the program's single-season scoring list. He also scooped up 15 ground balls and caused five turnovers.

In 33 career contests for the Black & Gold, he had 28 goals and 27 assists for 55 points to go along with 29 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers. He is tied for ninth all-time in program history in assists per game, averaging 0.82 helpers per contest.

The conference's major awards were bestowed upon Western New England's Nick Gamba (offensive player of the year), Endicott's Hayden Souza (defensive player of the year and short-stick specialist of the year), Salve Regina's Pat Leary (rookie of the Year), Nichols' Steven Moutsoulas (senior scholar-athlete of the year), and Curry's Tim Murphy (coach of the year). Voting for the All-CCC teams and each of the major awards was conducted by the conference's nine men's lacrosse head coaches following the conclusion of the regular season.
