Ritter Named GNAC Rookie of the Week

BOSTON, Mass. – For the second time this season, freshman setter Collin Ritter (Feeding Hills, Mass.) of the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's volleyball team has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week. Ritter earned the honor for his play during the week of March 17-23.

In a 3-1 week for the Leopards, Ritter dished out 150 assists over the four matches, averaging 10.71 helpers per set including a 51 assist effort in Wentworth's victory over Johnson & Wales. Ritter also collected 13 digs, 11 total blocks, six kills and three aces during the week.

Ritter has played in 23 of a possible 24 matches and 73 of a possible 84 sets for the Leopards and has amassed 731 assists (10.01 per set) to go along with averaging 1.32 digs, 0.58 blocks, and 0.27 service aces per set. His 731 assists thus far are the seventh most in a single season in program history and he also already ranks seventh on the program's all-time assist list.

Wentworth is 17-7 overall (6-2 GNAC) and hosts Albertus Magnus in a GNAc match on Tuesday evening.
