Rowe, Miller Haul Home CCC Weekly Awards

BEVERLY, Mass. – After pushing the Wentworth Institute of Technology softball team to a 3-1 week, including a program-first and thrilling 3-2 win over Endicott, two student-athletes earned recognition from the Commonwealth Coast Conference league office Tuesday morning. Junior Jess Rowe (Yardley, Pa.) was named CCC Player of the Week while freshman Brianna Miller (West Haven, Conn.) earned CCC Rookie of the Week honors. The awards are for games played April 1-7.

Rowe strung together a .400 batting average across the week, totaling a team-high six hits along with two RBI. In the circle, she went 2-0, striking out eight batters (four in each contest) and lifted the Leopards to their first-ever win over the Gulls.

Miller continued her efficiency at the plate, going .500 with a .571 OBP. The rookie totaled six hits, six runs scored, and three RBI across the stretch, including a home run against Emmanuel along with a hit and RBI in the triumph against Endicott.

The Black & Gold continue their conference slate Wednesday at home against Curry.
