BIDDEFORD, Maine – Freshman Ryan Ballard (Norwalk Conn.) led the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's cross country team to the finish at the Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship race held Saturday afternoon. Ballard finished ninth, earning himself CCC All-Conference honors.

The 8K event featured 118 runners composed of nine of the NCAA Division III CCC schools. The Leopards finished sixth with 151 points.

Ballard, who finished ninth, ran a time of 27:00.01 (9 points). Behind him was junior teammate Jack Chausse (Newport, R.I.), who finished in 19th with a time of 27:72.02 (19 points). Junior William Carpenter (Salisbury, Vt.) finished in 46th with a time of 29:15.04 (36 points) and junior Henry Walker (Brookline, Mass.) finished right behind him at 52nd with a time of 29:27.3 (41 points). Sophomore Donovan DiMaria (Dover, N.H.) finished in 62nd with a time of 29:47.06 (46 points).

Rounding out the Leopards' runners were sophomore Christian Vallerand (Woburn, Mass.), who finished 70th with a time of 30:23.09 (51 points), and freshman Evan McIntire (Mansfield, Mass.), who finished two spots behind Vallerand with a time of 30:27.5 (52 points). Freshman Jacob Thomas (Kingston, N.H.) finished 81st with a time of 31:13.6. Sophomore Robbie McCue (Weymouth, Mass.) finished 105th with a time of 34:34.2 while sophomore Nick Whitcomb (Plymouth, Mass.) finished just behind at 106th with a mark of 34:50.2.

The Leopards continue their postseason run at the NCAA Regional Championship Meet in Brunswick, Maine on November 12.
