Men's Cross Country Wraps Season at NCAA Regional Championship

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Wentworth Institute of Technology men's cross country team wrapped up the 2022 campaign with a strong performance at the NCAA Regional Championship Meet that took place Saturday afternoon. The Black and Gold were led by a top-50 finish from freshman Ryan Ballard (Norwalk, Conn.).

The 8K event featured 242 runners from 33 NCAA Division III programs. The Leopards finished 16th with 528 points.

Ballard led all Leopards with a 46th place finish, capped with a mark of 27:22.1 (45 points). Junior Jack Chausse (Newport, R.I.) finished 82nd with a time of 28:30.1 (81 points). Junior teammate William Carpenter (Salisbury, Vt.) was the next Leopard to cross the finish at 121st with a time of 29:26.9 (120 points). Just behind Carpenter was junior Henry Walker (Brookline, Mass.), who finished 127th with a mark of 29:43.5 (126 points).

 Sophomore Donovan DiMaria (Dover, N.H.) finished 158th with a time of 30:44.3 (156 points). Sophomore Christian Vallerand (Woburn, Mass.) finished with a 30:58.8 mark, good for 165th (163 points). Freshman Jacob Thomas completed his rookie campaign two places and one second behind Vallerand in 167th place with a time of 30:59.9 (165 points).

The postseason race concludes the Leopards' season.
