BOSTON, Mass. – Freshman guard Jherson Colon (Boston, Mass.) of the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's basketball team has earned Commonwealth Coast Conference Rookie of the Week honors for games played from December 2-8.

Colon helped the Leopards to a 1-1 week by averaging 16.5 points, 1.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.0 steals while shooting 85.7 (12-for-14) from the free throw line. In a 61-53 loss to Salve Regina he had 17 points, two assists, and two blocks and followed that up with 16 points, two rebounds, and two assists in a 72-59 win over Curry.

Starting two of the four games in which he has appeared for the 3-4 Leopards, Colon leads the team in scoring as he is averaging 18.0 points to go along with 4.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.0 steals per contest.

Wentworth is idle until December 30 when the Leopards play Vassar at the Trinity Holiday Classic.
