Men's Lacrosse to Host Friends of Jaclyn Day

BOSTON, Mass. – On Wednesday, April 23, when the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's lacrosse team hosts the University of New England in its final home game of the 2014 campaign, the Leopards will help to raise awareness of pediatric brain tumors as Wentworth has designated this game as Friends of Jaclyn Day.

The Friends of Jaclyn Foundation has a global vision to provide every child suffering from a brain tumor, the opportunity to receive love and support as they struggle through their everyday challenges.

The Friends of Jaclyn Foundation seeks to immediately impact the child's life in valuable and constructive ways that will alter their outlook about their situation, whereby giving them hope and courage to fight this disease. The foundation provides these children and their families with teams of dedicated student athletes and coaches who give the children love, support and friendship, in turn the athletes gain a different perspective about life and compassion and the gift of caring for others.

Wentworth's involvement with the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation goes back to October, 2012, when the Leopards adopted Thomas Archibald as a team member. The Leopards' work with both Thomas and the foundation has not gone unrecognized, as the National Association of Division III Athletic Administrators recognized Wentworth with an award of merit at the NCAA Convention this past January.

Face-off is set for 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday and prior to the game, members of this year's senior class will be honored. For more information about the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation and the outstanding work they do, visit their website at http://www.friendsofjaclyn.org.
