Men's Tennis Closes Out Home Slate With Win Over Lesley

BOSTON, Mass. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology men's tennis team closed out the home portion of its season with a 9-0 win over Lesley. The Leopards snap a three-match losing streak and improve to 4-7 while the Lynx fall to 0-10.

Seniors James Drum (Madison, Conn.) and Josh Dowd (Bristol, Conn.) picked up an 8-0 win over sophomore Niko Marcolini (Newbury, Mass.) and Jack Tortorici. Junior Zach Peter (Preston, Conn.) and sophomore Evan Gosselin (Lewiston, Maine) paired up to defeat junior Devon Mayo (Newport News, Va.) and sophomore Alex Bonilla-Guevara (Cambridge, Mass.), 8-0, at No. 3. At No. 2, junior Mike Withington (Plymouth, Mass.) and sophomore Seng Ly (Lynn, Mass.) teamed to defeat sophomore Max Anthony (Cambridge, Mass.) and sophomore Khyle Park (Cambridge, Mass.), 8-2.

Dowd earned a 6-0, 6-0 win over Tortorici at No. 3 singles before Drum's 6-0, 6-3 win at No. 1 over Marcolini clinched the match for the Leopards. Sophomore Henry Tittmann (Cambridge, Mass.) defeated Anthony, 6-0, 6-0, at No.2, junior Thinh Dang (Boston, Mass.) defeated Park, 6-3, 6-1, at No. 4, Thomas bested Bonilla-Guevara, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 5, and freshman Justin Wright (Wilmington, Mass.) closed out the match with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Mayo at No. 6.

Wentworth is at Eastern Nazarene on Wednesday.
