Rogoz, Quick Named All-CCC

BOSTON, Mass. – A pair of Wentworth Institute of Technology women's volleyball players were honored by the Commonwealth Coast Conference as the league announced its all-conference teams and major award winners on Monday afternoon.

Sophomores Leah Rogoz (Woodridge, Ill.) and Claire Quick (Mission Viejo, Calif.) were recognized by the CCC for the second straight year as Rogoz was a first team selection and Quick earned a spot on the second team.

Rogoz, the 2016 CCC Rookie of the Year and First Team All-CCC selection, is averaging 3.67 kills and 3.42 digs per set while hitting .257. She presently ranks second in the CCC in kills per set, fifth in kills (312), and sixth in total attacks (851) while her hitting percentage is ninth. Additionally, her 312 kills are the second-most in a single season in program history. The Most Outstanding Player of the Colonial Classic Invitational to begin the 2017 campaign, Rogoz has 12 double-doubles on the season and recorded career highs of 21 kills, eight aces, and 23 digs this season. In 54 career matches (179 sets), Rogoz is averaging 3.45 kills and 3.32 digs per set while hitting .250. Her hitting percentage, kills (617), points (724.5), and attack attempts (1680) are all among the top 10 in program history.

Quick, a Third Team All-CCC selection as a freshman, earns her second straight all-conference nod after a sophomore season which has seen her average 2.74 kills and 3. 75 digs per set while hitting .235. She is eighth among CCC players with 326 digs, ninth with 238 kills and her 676 total attacks are 10th among conference players. Named to the Colonial Classic Invitational to begin the season, Quick has 11 double-doubles on the season and recorded career highs in kills, service aces, and digs this season. Her career-high eight aces came in a win over Mount Ida where she served 23 straight points. In 55 career matches (177 sets), she is averaging 2.75 kills and 3.46 digs per set while hitting .257. She is among the top 10 in program history in attack percentage and kills (487).

Wentworth set program records for wins (24) and conference wins (six) this season, and, as the number four seed, will host fifth-seeded Western New England in a CCC Quarterfinal on Tuesday night.
