French Repeats as CCC Rookie of the Week

BOSTON, Mass. – For the second week in a row, freshman shortstop Aidan French (Chicago, Ill.) of the Wentworth Institute of Technology baseball team has earned Commonwealth Coast Conference Rookie of the Week honors. French earns the honor for games played from April 23-29.

French batted .563 (9-for-16) with a pair of doubles, three stolen bases, six runs scored, and five runs batted in. He also had an on-base percentage of .588 and a slugging percentage of .688. In a loss to regionally ranked Babson, he was 4-for-4 with a double, a run scored, and a run batted in and, in a CCC doubleheader split with Eastern Nazarene, he went 4-for-8 (.500) with a double, four runs scored, and three RBI. He scored the game-winning run in the Leopards' 9-8, walk-off win over the Lions in game two.

On the season French is batting .359 (33-for-92) with five doubles, 11 stolen bases, 26 runs scored, and 12 RBI. He also has an on-base percentage of .439. He leads the team in stolen bases and runs scored, is tied for first in hits, and is second in batting average.

Wentworth closes out the regular season with a CCC doubleheader at Curry this afternoon.
