BOSTON, Mass. – After finishing the regular season with an 8-8 record in Commonwealth Coast Conference play, the Wentworth Institute of Technology baseball team will be seeded fifth in the upcoming CCC Tournament. The Leopards (13-16, 8-8 CCC) will square off against fourth-seeded Endicott (24-14, 10-6 CCC) on Saturday afternoon (May 5) at Noon. The game will take place at Brother Reynolds Field on the campus of Salve Regina University.

Wentworth, which is making its first CCC Tournament appearance since the 2014 campaign, claimed the number five seed by virtue of the second tiebreaker against Gordon. The Leopards and Fighting Scots split their league doubleheader on March 31, however, Wentworth went 1-1 vs top-seeded Salve Regina while Gordon was 0-2.

The opening weekend of the tournament features games on Saturday and Sunday at the top two seeds, with an "if necessary" game slated in each pod for Monday afternoon. The winners of the two pods will then square off in a best two-out-of-three series at the highest remaining seed on Friday, May 11, and Saturday, May 12.

The winner of the Wentworth/Endicott game will turn around and play Salve Regina (23-13, 12-4) beginning at approximately 3:00 p.m. (or 30 minutes after the conclusion of the Noon game) on Saturday while the loser faces the loser of the 3:00 game (Game #3) on Sunday, May 6, at Noon.

Second-seeded Roger Williams (19-19, 11-5) will host the other pod which also contains third-seeded Western New England (26-12, 11-5) and sixth-seeded Gordon (17-16, 8-8). The Hawks earned the number two seed by virtue of a 2-0 record against the Golden Bears in the regular season.

Endicott and Wentworth met on April 7 in Beverly with the Gulls winning, 3-0, and 9-5. Saturday will be the 46th meeting all-time between the two schools with Endicott, winner of the last nine series meetings, holding a 36-9 series edge. In CCC Tournament play, this will be the seventh time the teams have met with Endicott holding a 4-2 edge.

Wentworth and Salve Regina split their doubleheader on April 8 in Brockton with the Seahawks taking the first game, 8-3, and the Leopards earning the split with a 6-5 win in the nightcap. Should the two teams match up over the weekend, it will mark the 65th meeting between the two schools with the Seahawks holding a 45-19 advantage, including a 4-6 record in CCC Tournament games.
