Golden Lifts Leopard Men's Soccer Team to 2-1 Win

BOSTON, Mass. – Senior John Golden's (Whitman, Mass.) second goal of the game, coming with 5:49 remaining in regulation, snapped a 1-all tie and lifted the Wentworth men's soccer team to a 2-1 win over Regis in a The Commonwealth Coast Conference contest played at the Regis Athletic Complex.

The host Pride drew first blood when freshman Chris Millington (Huntington, N.Y.) scored an unassisted goal at the 26:23 mark.  That goal would stand as the lone marker of a first half that saw an even number of shots (four) for both teams).

Golden tied the game at 61:54 when he was set up by senior Ben Nasman (Lenox, Mass.) and fired a shot to the opposite side of the net.  The game would remain tied until junior PJ Platner (Northford, Conn.) set up Golden, who broke the tie.

Sophomore John Longo (Needham, Mass.) made four saves for the Leopards (5-5-0, 3-3-0 TCCC), while freshman Ryne Tillman (Bedford, Mass.) made seven saves for the Pride, who fall to 3-7-1 overall and remain winless (0-5-1) in conference play.  Wentworth held a 12-1 shot advantage in the second half and a 16-5 advantage for the game.
