Wentworth Falls to Penn State-Beaver, 5-2

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Senior Lizz Harvey (McConnellsburg, Pa.) went 2-for-3 with two doubles and freshman Haylee Bacik (Lowell, Mass.) added a pair of hits and drove in two runs, but the Wentworth softball team allowed four runs in the last of the sixth inning, falling to Penn State-Beaver, 5-2, in the Leopards' fourth game of the Fastpitch Dreams Classic.

After trailing 1-0 after an inning of play, the Leopards tied the game in the fourth inning.  Harvey doubled and went to third on a senior Bridget Souza (Medford, Mass.) groundout.  She would come around to score on an RBI single by Bacik.

Two innings later Wentworth took a 2-1 lead when Harvey doubled and went to third on a single by Souza.  Harvey would score on Bacik's second RBI of the afternoon.  Penn State-Beaver rallied from the one-run deficit in the home half of the inning by scoring four runs, aided in part by a pair of Leopard miscues.

Freshman Stephanie MacLeay (Ashley Falls, Mass.) took the loss for the Leopards, pitching all six innings.
