Golf Concludes Fall Schedule at NEIGA Championship

BREWSTER, Mass. – Senior Brandon Goold (Foxboro, Mass.) shot a two-day total of 154 as the Wentworth Institute of Technology golf team closed out the fall portion of its schedule at the 80th Annual New England Golf Association Championships.

After shooting a 347 on Sunday, the Leopards shaved seven strokes off their score on Monday, finishing with a 687. The 687 placed the Black & Gold 19th out of 22 Division III schools competing. Rhode Island College (615) captured the Division III crown while Fairfield (601) captured both the Division I and overall championship. Endicott's Austin Teal finished with a three-over 147 to claim Division III medalist honors.

Goold entered the second round tied for fifth in the 107-player field after he shot a 77 on Sunday. He followed that up with a 77 on Monday and finished in a tie for eighth.

Junior Brad Tyler (San Diego, Calif.) finished in a tie for 81st after shooting a 175 (89-86), senior Pat Sullivan (Needham, Mass.) shot 179 (91-88) to finish 92nd, and freshman Paul Arsenault (Middleton, Mass.) had a two-day total of 181 (92-89) to round out Wentworth's team scores as he finished in a tie for 94th.

Freshman Enrique Arrieche (Caracas, Venezuela) finished in 96th place after shooting a 185 (90-95).

The Leopards are anticipated to compete in four events in the spring, culminating with the Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship the weekend of April 25-26.
