Golf Concludes Fall Schedule at NEIGA Championship

BREWSTER, Mass. – Wrapping up the fall portion of its schedule, the Wentworth Institute of Technology golf team competed at the 83rd Annual New England Intercollegiate Golf Association Championship Sunday and Monday. The event was held at the Captains Course where participants played both the Par 72, 6,610-yard Port Course and the Par 72, 6,687-yard Starboard Course.

Wentworth tied its second-lowest round of the season with a 318 on Monday as the Leopards finished 14th in the 19-team Division III field. The Black & Gold shot a 647 over 36 holes (329-318). NCAA Tournament qualifier Husson won the event, carding a 586 to defeat Rhode Island College (597) and Babson (599).

Sophomore Matthew Pleshaw (Franklin, Mass.) finished tied for 39th among 92 players as he shot a 159 (79-80). Freshman Sancho Rodriguez (San Roque, Spain) jumped 22 places after an opening day 85 to shoot 77 on Monday and finish tied for 49th with a 162. Junior Brian Bak (South Hadley, Mass.) finished tied for 67th with a 165 (84-81) while senior Paul Arsenault (Middleton, Mass.) finished tied for 75th with a 168 (81-87). Senior Austin Enroth (Dartmouth, Mass.) was 78th after his two-day total of 172 (90-82).
