BOSTON, Mass. – After an impressive sophomore season, outfielder Kaitlin Pettenger (Budd Lake, N.J.) was rewarded by being named to the 2021 Commonwealth Coast Conference All-Conference team as a second team selection. The announcement came as the league released its major award winners and all-conference selections on Wednesday.
Voting for the All-CCC Teams and major awards was conducted by the 10 CCC head softball coaches following the conclusion of the regular season.
Pettenger led the team in batting average (.429), runs scored (12), hits (24), triples (two), stolen bases (nine), slugging percentage (.571), and on-base percentage (.475). She also was tied for the team lead with four doubles. Pettenger hit safely in all 17 of the Leopards' games from the leadoff spot, including recording seven two-hit games. In 27 career contests, Pettenger is batting .360 with six doubles, five triples, 23 runs scored, 10 stolen bases (on 11 attempts), has an on-base percentage of .455, and a slugging percentage of .547. She is tied for sixth in program history with her five triples.
