Rowe Earns CCC Player of the Week Honor

BEVERLY, Mass. – Capping the regular season with a historic week at the plate, junior Jess Rowe (Yardley, Pa.) of the Wentworth Institute of Technology softball team earned recognition from the Commonwealth Coast Conference for her performances by being named CCC Player of the Week. The award is for games played April 29-May 5.

Rowe's second honor of the season comes on the heels of a 3-1 week for Wentworth in which the junior batted .571, with five of her eight total hits registering as three triples and two home runs, respectively. She also held an impressive slugging percentage of 1.43.

Rowe's second hit in a 3-2 win over Western New England not only proved to be the game-deciding home run but also headed to the books as her 100th career hit. In addition, the junior went 1-0 in the circle through the week, earning the win against the Golden Bears. On the week, she struck out five batters in 12.2 innings of work.

The Black & Gold, who finished regular-season play 23-17, including 9-7 in league action, face Roger Williams in the opening game of the CCC Tournament tomorrow afternoon.
