BROOKLINE, Mass. – Senior Eric Anderson (Abington, Mass.) shot an even par 71 as the Wentworth Institute of Technology golf team opened the 2013-2014 season with wins over Newbury and Daniel Webster in a three-way match played at Putterham Meadows Golf Course. The Leopards shot a 326 as a team, edging the host Nighthawks (331) and besting the Eagles (344).

Anderson's 71, which was a career low, placed him first among the 15 golfers with junior Dante Christofori (Springfield, Mass.) carding an 82 to tie him for fourth. Finishing two strokes behind Christofori was junior Pat Sullivan (Needham, Mass.) with an 84 while classmate Brandon Goold (Foxboro, Mass.) tied for 11th with an 89 to round out Wentworth's scorers.

The Leopards return to action on Thursday, September 19, when they will participate in the Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship Qualifier. The top four teams from that even advance to the CCC Championship in late April.
