Ollila Named CCC Rookie of the Year; Coakley, Paradis Named All-CCC

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Student-athletes from six different institutions in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) were represented on the 2015 All-CCC Men's Lacrosse Team. In addition to the all-conference team, winners of six major individual awards and the team sportsmanship award were also selected.

Endicott senior Nick Pinciaro was named the CCC Offensive Player of the Year, while junior teammate Cameron Bell was honored as the CCC Defensive Player of the Year. Roger Williams junior Caleb Kenney earned Short-Stick Specialist of the Year and teammate Mark Fesenmeyer was selected as the CCC Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Wentworth's Jake Ollila (Goffstown, N.H.) was named CCC Rookie of the Year. Endicott's Sean Quirk was tabbed as the CCC Coach of the Year, and Western New England University was the recipient of the Team Sportsmanship Award.
 
Voting for the All-CCC team and each of the major awards was conducted among CCC men's lacrosse coaches.
 
Joining Pinciaro (attack), Bell (goalkeeper), Kenney (short-stick specialist) and Fesenmeyer (defense) on the first team were attackers Colin Bannon (Endicott) and Justin Bard (Western New England), midfielders Harrison Cotter (Endicott), Keegan Dudeck (Western New England) and Will Jennings (Endicott), defenders Fabian Brunner (Endicott) and Steve Patrie (Western New England), long-stick midfielder Ian Knechtle (Endicott) and faceoff midfielder Tommy Hughes (Endicott).
 
Second team selections include attackers Ryan Coakley (Wentworth), Will Siefert (Roger Williams), and Kyle Weber (Endicott), midfielders Jeremy Morgan (Endicott), Garrett Mullins (Western New England) and Michael Utz (Gordon), defenders Joe Barcia (Western New England), Patrick Holland (Roger Williams), and Ben Katzen (Endicott), long-stick midfielder David Novitzky (Western New England), short-stick specialist Sam Scoba (Endicott), faceoff midfielder David Cedrone (Western New England), and goalkeeper Luke Aubrey (Roger Williams).
 
Receiving third team recognition were attackers Jon Bota (Western New England), Tim Kelly (Roger Williams) and Alec Paradis (Wentworth), midfielders Max Cammarota (Roger Williams), Patrick Dillon (Western New England), and Jon Gomer (Roger Williams), defenders Brian Hellrigel (Western New England), Steven Hughes (University of New England) and Michael Ryan (Endicott), long-stick midfielder Cam Donnelly (Roger Williams), short-stick specialist Justin Holl (Western New England), faceoff midfielder Dan Arket (Roger Williams) and goalkeeper Brandon Body (Western New England).

Ollila becomes the first Wentworth men's lacrosse player since Andy Sbordone in 1999 to take home the league's top rookie award. Starting all 16 games, he has scooped up 50 ground balls and caused 16 turnovers, which ranked him fifth and fourth among his teammates, respectively. He had eight ground balls in a 9-8 win over UMass Dartmouth on March 23 and also caused a career-best four turnovers in a 13-9 win over Mass. Maritime on March 19. Offensively he has scored five goals.

The program's all-time scoring leader, Coakley, a senior, earns Second Team All-CCC honors for the second time in three seasons after posting a program record 81 points (50 goals, 31 assists). A native of Flemington, N.J., twelve of Coakley's 50 goals came during man-up situations and he had career highs of 11 points in a 19-10 win over Lasell on April 18, which included matching his career high of six goals which he set in the Leopards' 16-10 win over Curry on March 28. He has recorded multiple points in every one of Wentworth's games this season. For his career he is the only player in program history to score over 200 points as he has 99 goals and a program-best 117 assists in 50 games as a Leopard. His 99 goals rank him third on the program's all-time list as do his 17 man-up goals.

A native of Pelham, N.H., Paradis has had a breakout season as a junior, as he has more than doubled his career point total. In 14 contests he has 38 goals and 22 assists for 60 points. Paradis had a career-high five goals in a 19-10 win over Lasell on April 18 and had career highs of five assists and eight points in Wentworth's 13-9 win over Mass. Maritime on March 19. Playing in 47 career games, Paradis is 11th on the program's all-time scoring list with 109 career points. He is tied for 14th all-time with 64 goals and is eighth on the program's list with 45 career helpers. Additionally, his 16 man-up goals rank him fourth.

Wentworth sits at 9-7 overall and finished CCC play with a 3-5 record. The Leopards are the number six seed in the upcoming CCC Tournament and will travel to third-seeded Roger Williams on Saturday in an opening round contest.
