Pettenger Named to NFCA All-Region Team

BOSTON, Mass. – Senior outfielder Kaitlin Pettenger (Budd Lake, N.J.) continued to add to her postseason awards collection by being named to the National Fastpitch Coaches' Association All-Region Team. Pettenger earned a third team nod in Region II.

A three-time All-CCC honoree, Pettenger earned her second straight first team all-conference nod earlier this week after being named to the second team as a sophomore. A record-setting senior season saw the left fielder start all 42 games and set program records for hits (56) and total bases (83). She batted .400 (56-for-140) with 10 doubles, four triples, three home runs, and 21 RBI, while she also had an on-base percentage of .475 and a slugging percentage of .593. Two of her three home runs came in the CCC Tournament, including a walk-off three-run smash which gave the Black & Gold a 3-2 win over the University of New England in the opening round. Starting all 108 games in which she played, Pettenger, the program's all-time leader in hits (139) and triples (17), has the third-highest career batting average in program history at .381. Pettenger also ranks among the top five in program history in total bases (213; third), runs scored (94; third), slugging percentage (. 584; fourth), on-base percentage (.455; fourth), and walks (48; fifth).

Pettenger is the second straight softball student-athlete to earn NFCA All-Region honors, joining Alexandra Pina who was also a third team selection a season ago.
