Prue Named TCCC Co-Player of the Week

TCCC Weekly Release

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Junior guard Eric Prue (Auburn, Maine) of the Wentworth men's basketball team had a solid week for the Leopards and today was named The Commonwealth Coast Conference Co-Player of the Week for the week ending Dec. 5.

In a 2-0 week for the Leopards, Prue averaged 17.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game while shooting .545 (12-for-22) from the floor.  Included in his shooting percentage from the floor was his shooting .526 (10-for-19) from behind the three-point arc.

Prue began the week by helping Wentworth to its first win of the season, a 61-48 victory over Coast Guard, with a nine-point, five-rebound performance, before netting a career-high 26 points in an 85-60 win over Lesley.  In that game he shot 9-for-14 from the floor – including 7-for-12 from three-point land – to go along with a career-best six rebounds and three assists.  Seventeen of his 26 points came in the second half.

On the season Prue has started all six of Wentworth's games and is averaging 10.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.5 rebounds, and 1.2 steals for the 2-4 Leopards.  His 17 three pointers made through six games rank him first on the team.

Wentworth closes out first semester play on Tuesday night when the Leopards travel to Connecticut College.
