TCCC Men's Basketball Tournament Pairings Set

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Anna Maria College has earned the top seed for The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) men's basketball championship, which begins with quarterfinal matchups on campus sites Tuesday.

The AMCATS (17-8 overall) captured the top seed in the conference tournament after compiling a league-best 11-2 record in TCCC play.

On Tuesday, Anna Maria will host #8 seed Gordon (11-14, 7-6), while #2 seed Wentworth (16-9, 10-3) will host #7 seed Colby-Sawyer (12-12, 8-5), #3 seed Roger Williams (17-8, 9-4) will host #6 seed Endicott (16-7, 8-5), and #4 seed Regis (15-10, 8-5) will host #5 seed Salve Regina (14-10, 8-5).

Tickets will go on sale for Tuesday's game beginning at 6:00 p.m.  Adult tickets are $4.00, while children 12 and over will be charged $2.00.  Students from Wentworth and Colby-Sawyer will be admitted FREE of charge provided a valid ID is presented.

TCCC tiebreaking procedures were utilized to seed the four teams with identical 8-5 conference records -- Regis, Salve Regina, Endicott and Colby-Sawyer.

In conference games played among the four 7-6 teams, Regis and Salve Regina compiled 2-1 records, while Endicott and Colby-Sawyer posted 1-2 records. Regis and Salve Regina were treated as a new tie and returned to the top of the tiebreaking procedure. Regis earned the #4 seed by virtue of a victory over Salve Regina in the teams' lone conference matchup.

Salve Regina, Endicott and Colby-Sawyer all returned to the top of the tiebreaking procedure. In conference games played among those three teams, Salve Regina posted a 2-0 record, compared to a 1-1 mark for Endicott and a 0-2 record for Colby-Sawyer. Salve Regina was awarded the #5 seed.

Endicott and Colby-Sawyer returned to the top of the tiebreaking procedure and Endicott was awarded the #6 seed by virtue of a victory over Colby-Sawyer in the teams' lone conference matchup.

All four quarterfinal games are scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.

Quarterfinal winners will advance to the semifinal round which will be played on Thursday, February 24 at the sites of the higher seed. Games are scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m., but may be altered in the event that one institution hosts both a men's and a women's contest.

Semifinal winners will square off for the conference championship on Saturday, February 26 at 7:00 p.m. at the site of the higher seed.
