Five from Softball Named to CSC Academic All-District Team

BOSTON, Mass. – Five student-athletes from the Wentworth Institute of Technology softball team have been recognized by the College Sports Communicators as Academic All-District honorees.

The 2024 Academic All-District® and Softball Team, selected by CSC, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

In order to be eligible for consideration, student-athletes must meet the following criteria:

  • Student-athletes must be at least a sophomore, eligibility wise.
  • Student-athletes must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average.
  • Student-athletes must have played in at least 90 percent of their team's games or have started in at least 66 percent of their team's games.

The Leopards' five honorees are junior Katelin Howe (Bow, N.H.), sophomore Kyla Igawa (Long Beach, Calif.), junior Katie Kranz (Bedford, Mass.), graduate Kaitlin Pettenger (Budd Lake, N.J.), and junior Jess Rowe (Yardley, Pa.). Howe, Pettenger, and Rowe all earned Academic All-District honors a season ago.
