Golf Competes Against Field, Elements at Franklin Pierce

JAFFREY, N.H. – In addition to battling four other teams the Wentworth golf team had to battle the elements at the Franklin Pierce Fall Invitational as the 18-hole event was shortened to nine holes due to inclement weather and wet course conditions. The Leopards finished fourth, shooting a team score of 185, three shots behind third place Castleton.

Junior Eric Anderson (Abington, Mass.) shot and eight-over 44 to earn Wentworth's medalist honors for the third straight match. Sophomore Brandon Goold (Foxboro, Mass.) finished tied for 13th with a 46, while classmate Robbie Wells Rogers (Colchester, Vt.) tied for 16th with a 47. Sophomore Pat Sullivan (Needham, Mass.) rounded out the scoring for the Black & Gold with a 49 – good for22nd.

Sophomore Dante Christofori (Springfield, Mass.) also competed for the Leopards, finishing 25th with a 50.

Wentworth returns to action on Saturday as the Leopards will compete in the Westfield State Invitational.
