Golf Finishes 11th at ECAC Championship

BOSTON, Mass. – The Wentworth golf team shot a two-day total of 701 to place 11th out of 14 teams at the 2012 ECAC Division III New England Golf Championship, played at the Par 72, 6,508-yard Crumpin-Fox Golf Club in Bernardston, Mass. Wentworth's 701 was 12 shots behind 10th-place Westfield State's 689 and 31 shots ahead of 12th-place Newbury. Rensselaer shot a two-day total of 630 to take home the team title.

The Leopards shot a 352 on Saturday and a 349 on Sunday as junior Eric Anderson (Abington, Mass.) paced the Leopards with a two-day total of 170 (84-86), which tied him for 27th in the 70-player field. Sophomore Robbie Wells Rogers (Colchester, Vt.) finished tied for 34th with a two-day total of 172 (88-84), while classmates Brandon Goold (Foxboro, Mass.) and Dante Christofori (Springfield, Mass.) carded a 177 (91-86) and 182 (89-93), respectively. Good finished tied for 43rd and Christofori finished tied for 50th. Freshman Matt Laracy (Foxboro, Mass.) also competed for the Black & Gold, shooting a 190 (96-94) and finishing in a tie for 56th.

Wentworth will wrap up the fall portion of its season next Sunday and Monday (October 28-29) at the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association Championships in Brewster, Mass.
